Alta Via della Valmalenco

Located in Vassalini (Chiesa in Valmalenco), this municipal pool is the perfect place for anyone wanting to swim or spend a few hours enjoying themselves with their children. It has a semi-Olympic indoor pool and areas suitable for families.
It's a great option on rainy days or for those who don't want to give up sport.

Caspoggio chairlift
This is an easy way to reach the Sant'Antonio area and its alpine villages, picnic areas, Wild Park and botanical garden.

Valmalenco has many easy, picturesque trails which are ideal for those travelling with children or who prefer to enjoy nature without steep climbs. Some of the most popular are:

  • Rifugio Tartaglione (Chiareggio) 
    An easy 45-minute walk through a scenic forest at the foot of Monte Disgrazia. It is perfect even with small children, with picnic areas along the way. At the alpine hut, you can sample the famous Valtellina fritters.
  • Palù Lake
    One of the most classic family excursions, easily reached by cable car from Chiesa in Valmalenco, followed by a short walk to the alpine lake. A simple and scenic trail.
  • Sant’Antonio di Caspoggio
    A quiet alpine village accessible via a walk through the woods with picnic areas.
  • Alpe Prabello – Rifugio Cristina
    An accessible and scenic walk, perfect for an alpine experience with children.
  • Rifugio Zoia – Campo Moro dams
    A flat route between lakes and woods at almost 2,000 metres above sea level, ideal for families with picnic facilities.
  • Primolo Pine Forest
    Flat, shaded paths perfect for pushchairs, with streams and small bridges.
  • Sant’Elisabetta – Sant’Antonio 
    An easy route connecting two ancient alpine villages, taking about 30 minutes to complete.
  • Alpe Ventina – Rifugio Gerli Porro and Rifugio Ventina 
    This is an easy, approximately 1-hour hike along a mule track ending at an alpine plateau at the foot of the Ventina Glacier.
  • Alpe Lago
    An easy trail suitable for children in an enchanting alpine setting. We recommend bringing a packed lunch.
